The SAR team managed to evacuate the body of Helmina Timisela (75), an elderly woman in Passo Country, Baguala District (Ambon City) who was reported missing a week or seven days ago while going alone to her garden in the forest.

"The victim was found dead and has been evacuated by the SAR team and handed over to his family," said Head of the Maluku Basarnas Search and Rescue Office Mustari, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, June 4.

According to him, the search by the SAR team assisted by 15 Passo residents was carried out after a resident named Johan Ririhena reported it to the Maluku Basarnas Office at around 11:00 WIT.

Residents reported that the victim had gone to the garden around the Air Besar Hamlet (Negeri Passo) since May 28, 2023, without his family knowing at home.

The family received information from a motorcycle taxi driver who claimed to have escorted the elderly woman on May 28, 2023 at around 18:00 WIT.

The SAR team was then deployed to the scene at coordinates 3°37,417' S - 128° 14,528' E, with a distance of about 17 KM, and Heading 62.34 degrees northeast of the Ambon SAR Office.

Arriving at the scene of the incident at around 11.57 WIT and coordinating with the victim's family, the team began to move to search using the dissemination system (Esar) as far as 3 km north from Negeri Lama Village.

After an hour and a half of the search, the victim was found by a member of the SAR team around the forest river in Negeri Lama Village in a dead condition.

The victims were then evacuated by the Joint SAR Team to the funeral home to be handed over to the family.
