Thousands Of Police Secure Vesak Celebration Series In Central Java

Central Java Police have alerted thousands of police to secure a series of Vesak Day celebrations which were held in a number of areas in this province.

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Iqbal Alqudusy, said the series of security had begun today.

A series of worshipes were held in Magelang, Temanggung, and Magelang Regencies with the security of 606 joint police personnel, TNI, and other relevant stakeholders.

In addition, he continued, in the courtyard complex of Borobudur Temple, social services were also held for free treatment.

Security is also carried out during the process of taking eternal fire in Mrapen, Grobogan Regency and blessed water in Umbul Jumprit, Temanggung Regency.

"The security series is carried out in Magelang, Grobogan, Temanggung, and Magelang Regencies," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 30.

At the peak of the Vesak celebration, according to him, 3,635 joint personnel will secure the implementation of worship which will be held at 114 places of worship which will be attended by dozens of Buddhists.

Meanwhile, the peak of the Vesak celebration itself will be held in the courtyards of Borobudur and Mendut Temples.
