MALUKU - Ditreskrimum Polda Maluku continues to investigate the case of the shooting of two residents by an unknown person (OTK) in East Saparua, Central Maluku.

The Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Police, Kombes Pol. M. Rum Ohoirat, said that currently his party had dug up information from seven witnesses.

Meanwhile, bullet projectiles lodged in the victim's body have been sent to the Police Forensic Laboratory for a balestic test.

"Our team is still in the field to carry out an investigation," said Ohoirat in Ambon, Monday, May 29, as reported by Antara.

A joint team consisting of the Regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit and the Ambon Police are still trying to reveal who was behind the shooting of two victims, one of whom died at the Saparua Hospital.

Ohoirat emphasized that in investigating this case his party had never played games in investigating every case that occurred.

"Handling every crime case is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand. The handling is always different because not everything is the same," he said.

He gave an example, the case of finding a corpse at Jembatan Merah Putih (JMP), where initially everyone suspected that the victim died by suicide by jumping. However, after an investigation, evidence was found that led to a criminal incident.

"It turned out that the victim died because he was thrown away by his friends after being mistreated and the perpetrator could be arrested in a matter of hours," he said.

Another example, he continued, was that the rape case that caused the victim to die in Banda only took five days to reveal it.

"But there are also several cases that have not been revealed due to the lack of legal evidence," said Ohoirat.

He said, there were cases that were easily revealed because the evidence was quickly pocketed. However, there are also things that are difficult to reveal because of the various obstacles faced, including the lack of evidence at the crime scene such as witnesses, and so on.

According to him, there were several cases where the disclosure was rather difficult because the crime scene was in the forest and a quiet place, including the shooting case in Saparua.

"This certainly requires community cooperation and participation to provide information to officers. No matter how small the information from the public regarding the incident, it will be very beneficial for the police to uncover and make clear the case," he said.

Therefore, he said, related to the crime case in Saparua, the Maluku Police are seriously handling it and are still conducting investigations.

"The point is that the Police have never played games and no matter how small the cases that occur, the case is still recorded and must be revealed to completion," he said.

The Maluku Regional Police asked for the support of all elements of society so that they could help by providing the slightest information to the police.

"The role and the community should also be able to provide the slightest information that is useful and will be developed by the Police," he asked.

People who know people who still have firearms (senpi) are also asked to be reported to the nearest police. Reported data, guaranteed to be kept secret by the police.

"We are currently also continuing to investigate the illegal possession of firearms that are still circulating in the hands of the community. As we reveal on Haruku Island and West Seram Regency, as well as other areas," he said.

The circulation of firearms, both organic and assembled in Maluku, is still rampant in the hands of the community.

"If people who store weapons in their villages, we urge them to submit or inform the local security forces. Because it is possible that these weapons were misused and even killed others who were innocent," he concluded.
