PAPUA - Pangdam XVII Cenderawasih Maj. Gen. Muhammad Saleh Mustafa appreciated the members of the TNI-Polri who managed to secure weapons and ammunition from the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

In addition to firearms and ammunition, various communication equipment such as HT, SSB radio, cellphones and other communication tools were also secured.

"The various communication equipment, firearms and ammunition were secured from the KKB during the search for Susi Air pilots and law enforcement," Saleh said in a written statement, Wednesday, May 10, which was confiscated by Antara.

Previously, Saleh also said that Susi Air pilot search and release efforts, Captain Philips Marthens, continued to be carried out by prioritizing negotiations.

The negotiation process has gone up and down because some from the KKB support the effort but some are not so it is hoped that with the help of religious leaders and traditional leaders it can be resolved.

"The approach to negotiations remains prioritized by upholding humanity so that in carrying out its duties it is carried out in a measured and elected manner because not all people in vulnerable areas support the existence of KKB," said Saleh.

Susi Air pilot Captain Philips Marthens has been under the KKB led by Egianus Kogoya since February 7 shortly after landing his plane at Paro airport, Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains.
