SEMARANG - Police are investigating the death of a technician who allegedly died in a work accident while carrying out elevator maintenance at building E of the Central Java Governor's office in Semarang.
Kasatreskrim Polrestabes Semarang Donny Lumbantoruan said the AR victim was caught while the elevator was being treated moving up from the 3rd floor to the 4th floor.
According to Donny, the incident began when two CV technicians, Parisa Abadi Cerah, carried out regular maintenance of two elevators in the E building of the Central Java Governor's office. The two technicians were assisted by a freelance daily worker at the governor's office.
"It is suspected that there was a miscommunication when this technician tried the elevator which had been repaired," Donny said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 8.
From witness testimony, the victim's body position was allegedly pinched while trying to get out of the elevator cage.
"It is still being investigated what the victim was doing at the time of the incident," he continued.

Donny said the victim suffered injuries to the head and chest. The victim himself was reported to have died after receiving treatment at the hospital.
