West Java Gerindra Admits Disappointment And Anger After Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana Arrested By KPK

BANDUNG - The West Java Gerindra Party DPD admitted that they were disappointed and angry and fully handed over to law enforcement the case of the non-active Mayor of Bandung Yana Mulyana who was caught in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) hand-catching operation regarding allegations of bribery in the procurement of CCTV and the provision of internet networks for the Bandung Smart City Program.

"Fully handing this case over to law enforcement and the Corruption Eradication Commission. Law enforcers are asked to immediately prove if there is a bribery case in question," said West Java Gerindra Party deputy chairman Ihsanudin as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 17.

Based on information obtained by the West Java Gerindra Party DPD, Yana Mulyana's status in the Bandung City Gerindra Party DPC is not as a party administrator, only as a member.

Ihsanudin said the case of Mayor of Bandung Yana Mulyana who was exposed to OTT KPK was very disappointing.

The Gerindra Party, said Ihsanudin, was angry and disappointed with the actions of Yana Mulyana, who is a cadre of the party because the case that ensnared the Mayor of Bandung could tarnish the image of the Gerindra Party.

"Why was the electability of the Gerindra Party soaring high, even for presidential candidate Pak Prabowo number one, and suddenly some of its cadres stumbled on allegations of corruption," said Ihsanudin.

He admitted that the KPK's OTT against Yana Mulyana could tarnish the party's electability. Moreover, Yana was a candidate for the Chair of the Bandung City Gerindra Party DPC.

"Very disappointed that it happened. Hopefully, this is a small matter and actually, this is his personal fault," he said.

According to him, a number of Gerindra Party officials and colleagues said they did not believe in the Yana Mulyana OTT case.

"So, comments from friends also feel distrust because how come he was previously a candidate for the Chair of the DPC Gerindra City of Bandung," said Ihsanudin.

When asked about legal assistance for Yana Mulyana, the Gerindra Party admitted that they could not decide yet because they would first review the case.

"However, usually when you see the mistake there is an element of prosecution by the KPK, for example, it will fully help. But, if for example, this is indeed Mr. Yana's fault, yes, we have fully handed it over to law enforcement," he said.
