The Karawang District Police said that heavy-tonage vehicles were prohibited from crossing the homecoming route in the Karawang Regency, West Java, during the Eid homecoming season. "The ban on passing for heavy-tonage vehicles will take effect from April 18 to May 1, 2023," said Head of the Karawang Police Traffic Unit, AKP La Ode Habibi Ade Jama, in Karawang, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, April 11. He said that the heavy vehicle was a type of three-axis vehicle or more. The criteria are heavy cars that are not allowed (JBI) of more than 14,000 kilograms. In addition, there are goods cars with affix train, cargo cars with and a trailer. Then also goods cars carrying soil, sand, stones, mining products and building materials. "Vehicles that are exempt from the ban are for transporting fuel and BBG, livestock, fertilizer, sending money, basic goods and motorbikes for free," he said. According to him, the vehicle restriction aims to anticipate congestion and unwanted things. During this year's Eid homecoming season, he said, the Karawang Police had prepared traffic engineering both on toll roads, arteries, and alternatives. Meanwhile, the Karawang Police have begun to close dozens of u-turns along the homecoming route in the Karawang area. Kasatlantas said that the closing of the u-turn will start on Monday, April 10 to May 2, 2023. The roundback, which was closed during the Eid homecoming season, was on the Arteri Karawang-Cikampek road and the Pantura route, namely on Jalan l Tanjungpura on the Karawang-Bekasi border to the Pantura Gamon route on the Karawang-Subang border. He conveyed that the closure of the backturn was part of an effort to secure the Eid homecoming. The goal is to prevent traffic flow.
