One House Reportedly Collapsed By Abrasion Of The Barito River

BUNTOK - A house on Jalan Karau Gang Swarga Buntok, South Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan, collapsed due to abrasion or land irradiation on the banks of the Barito River. "The incident occurred on Sunday 9 April at around 19.30 WIB," said Head of the Head of the Sub-District and Logistics Section of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) South Suwono, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 10. He said, the house that collapsed due to ablation on the banks of the Watershed (DAS) Barito was the residence of the late Haji Samsul and Ancin Mawarni (42). "The house that collapsed belongs to the late H. Samsul and Ancin Mawarni was with a size of 10x10 meters on which there was a swallow nest building," explained Suwono. He explained, there were no casualties in the collapse of a house in the District of the South Hamlet. "Before the house collapsed, Ancin Marani's mother had fled to their family three days earlier because she was afraid of collapsing houses, so that in this incident there were no casualties," he explained. According to him, after knowing the information on the existence of collapsed houses, the South Barito BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC) went straight to the scene. "After obtaining information, the South BPBD Barito TRC went straight to the location of the incident which was on Jalan Karau Gang Swarga Buntok," Suwono added Suwono.

Suwono appealed to the public, especially those whose houses are on the edge of the Barito watershed, to always increase awareness of the dangers of ablation. "We also appeal to the public, if possible, not to build houses or other buildings on the banks of the river so that the buildings are protected from ablation," said Suwono.
