BANJARNEGARA - Banjarnegara Police Criminal Investigation Unit Officer, Central Java, succeeded in uncovering a premeditated murder case that started with fraud with the mode of multiplying money. "The premeditated murder carried out by TH alias Mbah Slamet (45), from Wanayasa, Banjarnegara Regency, then the victim was PO (53) from Sukabumi, West Java," said Banjarnegara Police Chief AKBP Hendri Yulianto during a press conference at the Banjarnegara Police, Antara, Monday, April 3. Chronology of the disclosure of the case began with the report of the victim's child, namely GE which was received by the Banjarnegara Police on March 27, 2023. In his report, he said, GE admitted that he was invited by his father to meet someone in Banjarnegara in July 2023 by using a bus from Sukabumi to Wonosobo. Arriving at Wonosobo, PO and GE met Mbah Slamet who then took them to their house in Balun Village, Wanayasa District, Banjarnegara. While at his house, Mbah Slamet invited PO to enter one of the rooms, while GE was asked to wait outside. "Furthermore, on March 20, 2023, PO returned to Banjarnegara alone to meet Mbah Slamet using a black Wuling vehicle," said the Police Chief. He said that when he arrived in Banjarnegara on March 23, 2023, PO had communicated using the WhatsApp messaging application with his other son, namely SL, who is the younger brother of GE. In the message, PO wrote that when he was at Mbah Slamet's house and asked his son to be on guard if he was short or there was no news until Sunday, March 26 to go straight to the location with the authorities because GE knew his house. However, since March 24, PO could not be contacted via his cell phone, so GE reported it to the Banjarnegara Police, which was followed up with an investigation and arrest of Mbah Slamet, until finally PO was found buried near a footpath to the forest in Wanayasa on Saturday (1/4). Furthermore, the Police Chief said that based on the results of the investigation, the premeditated murder case began with a money doubling agreement between Mbah Slamet and the PO victim. "Mbah Slamet has 'right hand', namely brother BS. One year ago, this BS brother uploaded to Facebook whose contents were that Mbah Slamet was a smart person who could double the money," he explained. According to him, PO who read the upload was also interested, so BS brought him together with Mbah Slamet. Since that meeting, PO has given a sum of money and a dowry to Mbah Slamet, but the proceeds from the doubling of the money have not been realized, so the victim repeatedly collects from the suspect. Annoyed that the victim was constantly billed by the victim, Mbah Slamet finally gave a drink PO which had been mixed with potassium (potassium cyanide) until finally he died and was buried on a footpath leading to the forest. "In addition to being upset and being billed continuously, the suspect is also afraid of being reported by the victim to law enforcement, so this victim is poisoned," he said. In connection with the case, the Police Chief said that the two suspects, namely TH alias Mbah Slamet and BS, were charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code regarding premeditated murder, with the threat of punishment in the form of death penalty or life imprisonment or a certain period of a maximum of 20 years. According to him, investigators from the Banjarnegara Police Satreskrim are still investigating and developing related to the possibility of other victims. Meanwhile, the suspect Mbah Slamet said that the victim had given Rp70 million in stages.

"I promise that the money can be doubled up to Rp5 billion, while I use the money from the victim to pay the debt," he said.
