Kupang City Appointed As Host Of 2023 East Indonesia Forum Festival

KUPANG - Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) has been appointed as the host of the IX East Indonesia Forum Festival which will take place on 26-27 July 2023.

"The city of Kupang is very ready to host the East Indonesia Forum Festival IX which will be attended by 1,000 participants from 12 provinces in Eastern Indonesia," said Acting Mayor of Kupang George Melkianus Hadjoh quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, Tuesday, March 15.

He said representatives from the Eastern Indonesia Knowledge Exchange Foundation (BaKTI) and officials from the NTT provincial government's Bappelitbangda had met with the Kupang City Government to discuss preparations for activities to be participated in by 12 provinces in Eastern Indonesia.

According to him, the increasing number of national-scale activities carried out in Kupang City is getting better because it has an impact on accelerating community economic growth.

He said that through the activities of the East Indonesia Forum, Forum IX, was momentum for the City of Kupang to advance cultural arts so as to encourage the growth of MSMEs in Kupang City.

"The Kupang government will also activate an event calendar in each village to deal with this meeting, in addition to fostering residents' love for art and culture and sports and attracting tourists from outside the area," he said.

He has asked the Kupang City Bappeda to establish coordination and communication with the BaKTI Foundation as the KTI Forum secretariat to discuss various preparations to make the event a success.

The Kupang City Government said it would partner with cultural and tribal halls from 12 provinces in eastern Indonesia in Kupang City to enliven the cultural evening event.

"All associations from 12 provinces in KTI in Kupang City were asked to appear in the opening night activities of the festival, both cultural arts from their respective regions," said George Melkianus Hadjoh.
