JAKARTA - A small battlefield reconnaissance drone has demonstrated maximum efficiency in special operations missions during special military operations in Ukraine, said RBS-Garpiya Director of Marketing and Development Igor Alekseev.

The company has been supplying battlefield drones, for use in special military operations zones since May 2022.

"This drone has performed very well in the mission of the special operations team. The drone's survivability has reached 90 percent," Alekseev explained, as quoted by TASS on February 16.

"This is not just a drone with an operating console. We are talking about a comprehensive approach to aerial reconnaissance in adverse weather conditions under the influence of radio-electronic warfare aids, day and night in a radius of up to 10 km, with the option to fix and configure it in the field with just a minimal equipment required.

"These drones are excellent for terrain reconnaissance during special operations, artillery targeting, and eliminating enemy mobile manpower through the delivery and dropping of special payloads," the executive said.

Separately, Russian Arms Export Agency Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheev said Russia was overseeing the development of unmanned aircraft systems and their promotion on the global market, on the sidelines of the Aero India 2023 international air show.

"Russia pays great attention to the development of unmanned systems and their promotion on the global market. Interaction with foreign partners helps domestic businesses to better understand their needs and develop this promising area," Mikheev explained.

"At Aero India 2023, Rosoboronexport presented multifunctional systems with Orlan-10E drones, systems with Orlan-30 UAVs and reconnaissance attack systems with long-range Orion-E drones," Mikheev said.

According to him, along with the increase in military drones and their increasing role on the battlefield, the development of countermeasures systems against military drones is also being carried out.

"Such equipment is needed not only in times of war, because even small civilian drones can pose a great danger to facilities such as airports and the sky above them," he added.
