SERANG - The Serang City Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrested the perpetrators of the theft that occurred at a Madura stall, to be precise at Puri Anggrek Housing Block B6 on Sunday, February 5, around 23.00 WIB.

Serang City Police Chief, Kombes Pol Nugroho Arianto through the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Serang City Police, AKP David Adhi Kusuma, confirmed the arrest.

"The incident occurred on Sunday at around 23.00 at the Madura stall, to be precise at Puri Anggrek Housing Block B6," said David on Monday (February 6).

It is known that the perpetrator was a man with the initials RB (40), a resident of Krajan Village, Sumberwari, Situbondo. Meanwhile, the victim was a woman with the initials KH (29), a resident of Jeruk Durga Tambuko Sumenep.

"Initially perpetrator RB stopped at a Puri Anggrek Madura stall, to be precise in Block B6 Kalodran Walantaka to buy cigarettes. Then RB entered the Madura stall and the victim KH was holding a black OPPO A76 mobile phone unit, saw the victim manning the shop alone, the thought of the perpetrator committing theft arise, by pointing a knife-type sharp weapon at the victim with the aim of making the victim felt afraid and succeed in stealing the victim's mobile phone," added David.

David further explained that later perpetrator RB who managed to get the victim's cell phone had fled but was eventually caught by residents.

"From the arrest of residents, the victim reported the incident to the Serang City Police, and immediately the Serang City Police Criminal Investigation Unit immediately went to the scene and arrested perpetrator RB along with evidence in the form of 1 unit of black OPPO A76 mobile phone, 1 unit of black and white Honda Vario motorcycle with police number: D 4171 HS, and 1 blade of a knife-type sharp weapon," explained David.

"For his actions, perpetrator RB is threatened with Article 365 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of 9 years in prison, theft which was preceded, accompanied or followed by violence or threats of violence, against a person with the intention of preparing or facilitating theft, or in the case of being caught red-handed, for allows escape itself or other participants, or to retain control of stolen items," concluded David.
