JAKARTA - The Menteng Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit has received a report on an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver who was the victim of a motorbike theft in the Cikini area. Currently, the police are still conducting searches through CCTV camera footage.

"The victim with the initials AH has submitted an official report to the Menteng Metro Police. This victim is ojol Maxim, a resident of South Jakarta. The victim suffered a loss from the motorbike taken by the robbers and the mobile phone that was on the victim's motorbike," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit Kompol Kukuh Islami when confirmed, Monday, January 16.

Based on the victim's statement, the search was carried out by tracing CCTV footage to find out the identity of the perpetrators. The CCTVs seized were from the Tugu Tani area to the Menteng Raya area.

"CCTV footage is still being analyzed by officers," he said.

Currently, the Menteng Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit is still conducting an examination of approximately 10 CCTV footage.

"The victim stated that the incident had ended after dropping off passengers in the Senen area. That's why we took footage from the Tugu Tani area. We hope the results of this CCTV footage can help reveal the perpetrators," he said.

Previously it was reported that the motorbike taxi driver (ojol) took place on Cikini Raya Street, Menteng District, Central Jakarta. The perpetrator managed to seize the motorbike by kicking the victim.

The incident was caught on CCTV cameras and went viral on social media. However, until Friday, January 13, the victim had not made an official report at the Menteng Metro Police.
