COVID-19 Update as of January 14: New Cases 389, Recovered 522

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 26,238 specimens were examined with the results of 389 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,725,847 people and active cases have decreased by 138 to 7,288 cases", quoted data from the Ministry of Health, Saturday, January 14.

Today's recovered cases increased by 522 cases, bringing a total of 6,557,835 people recovered. Then, positive confirmation that 5 people died and a total of 160,724 people.

The province with the highest number of new cases was DKI Jakarta with 172 cases, bringing a total of 1,538,181 cases. Followed by West Java with 87 new cases bringing the total to 1,233,910, Central Java has 37 new cases with a total of 655,682. Then, East Java with 28 new cases, bringing a total of 637,236 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 235 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 131 recovered cases, and East Java and Banten with an additional 33 recovered cases each.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 114,368,593.

"The positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 2.05 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 1,733 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.

To date, 204,122,104 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 174,922,869 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

Meanwhile, the third dose of vaccination was 68,971,460 and the fourth dose was 1,213,093. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
