Going To War In Ukraine With The Status Of A Convicted Murderer, Sergei's Body Returns To Russia And Is Buried With Military Honors

JAKARTA - Sergei Molodtsov is not an organic soldier of Russia. But Molodtsov had to join the war with Ukraine as punishment for killing his birth mother.

Sergei Molodtsov is serving time for killing his own mother. However, he was released to fight in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Sergei Molodtsov, who returned home dead, was buried in Russia as a hero. The 46-year-old man was buried with military honors in Serov, at the eastern foot of the Ural Mountains, quoted from the South China Morning Post, Thursday 12 January.

Sergei Molodtsov is part of the famous Wagner Group as a private mercenary. They are said to be linked to the Kremlin and accused of war crimes in Ukraine.

Molodtsov joined the group while serving time for the murder of his biological mother.

In a drunken stupor, Molodtsov beats his elderly mother to death. He broke his jaw, shoulder, face, and head and was sentenced in 2017.

Molodtsov was sentenced to just over 11 years. But he only served a little over five years before being drafted into the war.

At his funeral, Russian soldiers carried the coffin, and military veterans gave a farewell speech. It was not immediately clear how or where he died.

It was reported last week that the Wagner Group has recruited more than 35,000 convicts to serve in its army, citing information provided by prisoner rights organization Russia Behind Bars.
