Kendari Police Chief, Commissioner Muhammad Eka Fathurrahman, said his party received a report on the kidnapping of a 9-month-old baby named Askah abducted by unknown persons (OTK) in Kendari Caddi Village, Kendari District, Kendari City.

Commissioner Eka explained that the kidnapping incident occurred at around 12.00 WITA when the victim's father was looking after his child, then an unknown person came into the hallway of the house and immediately snatched the victim's baby.

At that time, the victim's father resisted and tried to defend his baby from the OTK, but the perpetrators abused him using a machete that hit the palms of the baby's parents.

As a result of this incident, the hand of the male baby's father was injured on the left.

After that, continued Commissioner Eka, the baby's parents then backed away and the perpetrator immediately fled with the baby in a black two-wheeled vehicle.

The Kendari Police, who received the report, immediately conducted an investigation and examined the two parents of the baby. In addition, the police were also deployed to chase the OTK.
