League Results 1: Gajos Single Goal Brings Persija To Beat North Maluku United

JAKARTA Persija Jakarta secured a narrow 1-0 victory when they traveled to North Maluku United in a follow-up match from the Indonesian League 1 season 2024/2025.

The duel between the two teams in the 17th week of Indonesia's highest caste took place at the Gelora Kie Raha Ternate Stadium, Ternate, North Maluku, on Saturday, December 28, 2024 evening WIB.

The single goal that determines the three points for the Kemayoran Tigers was scored by Maciej Gajos. The Polish player listed his name on the scoreboard which started with a corner kick.

This is Persija Jakarta's ninth win of the season or second in a row after the defeat against Bali United on December 15.

Carlos totaling the squad is currently filling third place in the standings. They collected 31 points, six points adrift of Persebaya Surabaya who sits at the top of the standings.

However, Persebaya has not played their 17th match week. So, the distance of these points could widen if Bajul Ijo wins against Bali United tonight.

Victory was also secured by PSBS Biak in other matches. This team successfully crushed their guest team Dewa United with a landslide score of 3-1 at the I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali.

Three PSBS Biak goals were scored by Armando Oropa, Alexandro, and Williams Lugo. Meanwhile, one opposing team entertainment goal was netted by Septian Bagaskara in the 78th minute.

Dewa United had to play with ten players eight minutes later after their defender Risto Mitrevski received a red card and had to leave the field.

This victory made Biak rise to sit in eighth position in the standings by collecting 25 points. The same number of points is owned by Dewa who is in ninth place.
