JABAR - The police are considering implementing traffic engineering during the momentum of Christmas and New Year 2023 or Nataru in Bogor City.

Head of the Bogor City Police Traffic Unit, Kompol Galih Apria, said the implementation of odd-even was situational. Later it will be determined after seeing the conditions for the spread of COVID-19 and the density of traffic flow during Nataru in Bogor.

"The consideration is that if COVID-19 increases, maybe at the weekend odd-even could be applied," he said in Bogor, West Java, Friday, December 9, as reported by Antara.

Galih said, as in previous years the Bogor Police Traffic Unit would look at priority scales based on the situation and conditions found on the highway.

Kasatlantas Polresta Bogor City said as many as 145 Satlantas personnel would be deployed to monitor traffic during Nataru.

Galih said that his party reflected on data on tourist attractions in Bogor City at the moment of Nataru last year reaching 20,000 people to the Bogor Botanical Gardens. The data does not include other tourist attractions.

According to him, the number of tourist visits to the Bogor Botanical Gardens is a parameter of smooth traffic in the center of Bogor City, because it is located in the heart of the city.

The Bogor Botanical Gardens are located near Tuju Kujang, off the Jagorawi toll road and adjacent to the Bogor Palace, surrounded by two malls namely Botani Square and BTM Mall and Bogor Market and Surya Kencana culinary center.

However, Galih stated that traffic engineering would not be carried out, aka normal, using a one-way system (SSA) implemented starting from Tugu Kujang, to Jalan Otista, Jalan Ir H. Juanda, Jalan Sempur, Jalan Pajajaran to the point where Tugu Kujang returns because traffic conditions are still normal.

"We will see the progress. Currently it is still normal, there is no odd-even plan. But if necessary according to the situation and conditions, we will apply odd-even," he said.
