The M 5.8 Earthquake in Sukabumi, The Shaking Was Felt in Bekasi, Jakarta to Depok

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude (M) 6.1 which was updated to M 5.8 was felt in Bekasi, DKI Jakarta and Depok Regencies.

The tremors of the earthquake were felt by residents in the three areas. However, the shaking didn't feel small like the light swayed for just a moment.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the earthquake occurred at 7.50 WIB, Thursday 8 December.

After informing that it was located 22 kilometers southeast of Sukabumi City, the BMKG updated it by writing the location of the earthquake 39 km southwest of Sukabumi City.

While the exact point of the earthquake at 7.27 South Latitude, 106.88 East Longitude.

Until now, the BMKG has not informed whether this earthquake has the potential to trigger a tsunami. The earthquake damage has not yet been investigated further.
