National COVID-19 Update: Added 6,601 Cases, DKI Jakarta Most Contributor

JAKARTA - Daily positive cases of COVID-19 increased by 6,601 people per day, Tuesday, November 8. The number is based on an examination of 77,140 specimens.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 6,531,721 people and active cases rose by 3,366 to 40,852 cases", said the COVID-19 Task Force, Tuesday, November 8.

While the recovered cases increased by 3,197 people today. Thus, the total number of recovered patients since the first confirmed case is 6,331,960.

Furthermore, the number of positive confirmed cases who died increased by 38 cases and the total became 158,909 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 2,254 cases and a total of 1,461,984 cases.

Followed by West Java which has 1,063 new cases with a total of 1,194,781 cases. East Java has 908 new cases and a total of 618,344 cases. Banten has 678 new cases and a total of 345,805 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 865 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an increase of 682 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 393 recovered cases, and West Java with an additional 273 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 110,961,033.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 12.79 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 5,054 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently, 205,206,052 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 172,022,447 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 65,486,977 and the fourth dose was 686,599. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
