Fogging to Prevent Dengue Fever, Central Lombok Health Office Efforts to Face WSBK Mandalika 2022

NTB - The Health Office of Central Lombok Regency carried out fogging or fumigation of houses of residents in the area near the Mandalika Circuit, Kuta Village, Pujut District.

The Head of Prevention, Disease Control, and Environmental Health (P3KL) of Central Lombok Health, Putrawangsa said, fogging to anticipate cases of dengue fever (DHF) is also part of the process of dealing with the World Superbike (WSBK).

"Today we are doing fogging in Kuta at three points. Starting from the Meredeng area, Kuta to the front of the circuit and with this fogging, it is hoped that the number of malaria and dengue can be suppressed", he said in Praya, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), quoted from Antara, Monday, November 7.

He said that the areas that had often been the pockets of the spread of dengue fever from the reports received were indeed in the Labulia area, Jonggat District, then Pujut District to Praya District.

"So based on data from the health office, the number of dengue fever cases in Central Lombok from January to November reached 57 cases and was dominated by adults. If we look at the trend of the previous year, there were 83 cases in 2021 and in 2020 there were 93 cases", he said.

So with this fogging, it is hoped that from 2022 to December the number of dengue cases does not exceed previous years.

Although the Central Lombok Health Office is intensively conducting fogging, Putrawangsa hopes that the public will always pay attention to the health and cleanliness of the environment so that it does not become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

"On average, DHF sufferers are mostly men and there are more adults. Because if the children are indeed we find a few", he said.

His party also continues to urge the public to remain vigilant, especially by looking at the current weather conditions which are indeed vulnerable to the spread of dengue fever. In addition, the community must also keep the environment clean, including waste.

"The cleanliness of the environment must be maintained so that there are no mosquito nests", he concluded.
