Central Java Residents Hand Over Assembled Firearms To TNI In North Maluku

MALUT - A resident from Central Java handed over an assembled rifle to the Yonarhanud 3/Yby Task Force, North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku (Malut).

A total of 10 homemade firearms, ammunition, and grenades were also handed over to the Yonarhanud 3/Yby Task Force.

"While on duty at Halut, the total handover of homemade weapons, ammunition, and explosives to date is 11 homemade weapons, with details of seven long barrels, 4 short barrels, 29 mixed ammunition, two explosives consisting of one grenade. fruit and one mine," said Dansatgas Yonarhanud 3/Yby Lt. Col. Arh Achmad Yani in Ternate, North Maluku, quoted from Antara, Monday, October 11.

Achmad Yani explained that the handover of weapons began with social communication activities carried out by Danpos Dama and its members in Loloda Islands District on Saturday, October 8.

When visiting people's homes. It turned out that there were local residents who came from Central Java the same as Danpos. The conversation became fluid.

The resident with the initials MB gave information to the Danpos Task Force that he kept a long-barreled homemade weapon belonging to his parents which had been stored for years. MB also took the initiative to hand over the weapon.

Danpos with five members then went to MB's residence in Dowonggila Village. MB accompanied by MT then handed over a homemade firearm to the task force personnel.

"I give high appreciation to the people who have willingly surrendered their weapons to the Yonarhanud 3/Yby Organic Task Force," he said.

Lt. Col. Arh Achmad Yani hopes to be an example for other communities if there are still weapons or other types of ammunition and explosives so that they can be handed over to officers in order to create a conducive North Maluku province, harmoniously side by side.
