Floods And Traffic Jams Surround Jakarta Last Night, PDIP No Longer Wants To Hope For A Solution To Anies

JAKARTA - Heavy rains lashed most areas of Jakarta on Tuesday, October 4 in the afternoon until late at night. As a result, seven roads and 16 RTs in Jakarta were flooded.

Floods that submerged roads in Jakarta reached 45 centimeters. The condition is made worse by the increasingly congested traffic in the afternoon and into the evening. Long traffic jams are inevitable.

Vehicles that pass during rush hour pile up, exacerbated by flooding that submerges roads. Motorists were forced to find other ways to avoid puddles.

Seeing this condition, member of the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Gilbert Simanjuntak, admitted that he no longer wanted to ask DKI Governor Anies Baswedan to deal with traffic jams and floods in Jakarta.

Gilbert prefers to hope for the Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta to replace Anies to solve the two classic problems in Jakarta.

"We can only hope that the next Acting Governor will present Jakarta's problems," Gilbert said in a short message, Wednesday, October 5.

According to Gilbert, Anies did not appear serious in his efforts to control flooding and congestion during his five years in charge of Jakarta.

Moreover, as his term of office ends in the next few days, Gilbert sees Anies starting to not focus on work because the NasDem Party has promoted him as a presidential candidate for the 2024 General Election.

"I think the Governor has focused on the presidential candidate, while the euphoria of getting the party's support for the presidential candidate. For 5 years he has not been able to. Especially in more than a week (the rest of his term of office)," said Gilbert.

Therefore, the problem that is still happening in Jakarta, called Gilbert, will be a record in Anies' track record to be assessed by the public, when he officially runs for the 2024 presidential election.

"Let the public judge for themselves what the impact of the governor's choice will be if they are unable to overcome the problem. Now it is even proposed as a candidate for presidential candidate from a certain party, the fruit of the choices in the voting booth will be felt for 5 years," he said.
