Operation Zebra 2022: 70 Motorcyclists in Central Jakarta Are Fined, 6 Motorbikes Are Taken Without Letter

JAKARTA - A total of 70 two-wheeled traffic violators were caught in the 2022 Zebra Operation, which was held on Jalan Suprapto, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 4.

Of the 70 two-wheeled vehicles that were secured by Central Jakarta Satwil Police officers, 6 of them were confiscated because they did not have a fake letter.

The Central Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit Action Committee, Ipda Susanto said, six vehicles were brought to the Central Jakarta Metro Police because they were not equipped with documents.

"Earlier we ticketed 70 motorcycles, and we immediately took 6 because there was no letter", said Ipda Susanto to reporters, Tuesday, October 4.

Ipda Susanto said the violations occurred because they entered the fast lane, went against the current, and did not wear a helmet.

"The target is not only two-wheeled vehicles in current operations. This activity will last until October 16, 2022. The location of this raid is not fixed at one point but is carried out randomly", he said.

In the same place, Abi, a motorcycle rider, said that he was given a ticket for entering the fast lane. He admits that he goes through the fast lane to speed up the pace to get to work.

"I took a fly over from Senen to the Cempaka Mas area. Indeed, motorbikes should not go through the fast lane, but because I thought that to cut time, I was forced to violate", he said.
