CIANJUR - Joint SAR has stopped the search for Grandma Epon (83) who was reported to have drowned in the Cisokan River, Ciranjang District, Cianjur, West Java (West Java).

PMI Cianjur Field Coordinator Deni Rismand said the search was closed on Tuesday, September 27, after seven days of searching but with no results.

"For the standard search, the limit is seven days, this is the last day and the maximum efforts made by the joint team have not yielded results, although the search radius has been increased to 5 kilometers from the first location where the victim was reported missing, but there is no sign of the victim's whereabouts," he said in Cianjur, as quoted from Antara, Tuesday 27 September.

So that the search is officially terminated, then BPBD volunteers and PMI Cianjur will carry out monitoring with local residents and fishermen because usually, Deni said, after more than five days the bodies of victims suspected of being stuck in the riverbed will rise by themselves alias floating.

The secretary of the Cianjur BPBD, Rudi Wibowo, added that although the search was stopped, his party still alerted volunteers to monitor and monitor the river up to the Jangari Reservoir.

"We have stopped the search because it is according to procedure, but to continue monitoring our volunteers, we are ready in case the victim's body is suspected to be stuck at the bottom of a floating river. We hope that the victim's body can be found and buried properly," he said.

As reported, Grandma Epon, a resident of Ciranjang Village, Ciranjang District, was reported missing and drowned in the Cisokan River when she was about to return home after farming. It is suspected that the grandmother slipped while washing her feet on the riverbank.

The joint SAR team consisting of BPBD Cianjur, SAR Bandung, Polres Cianjur and PMI Cianjur immediately conducted a search by traversing the river in the middle and the outskirts.

However, until the seventh day of searching, the victim could not be found. It is suspected that the victim's body, which was dragged by the current to the estuary or Jangari Reservoir, was caught and difficult to find.
