KPK Smells The Alleged State Loss When The Formula E Was Held in Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) sniffed out allegations of corruption that caused state losses during the Formula E racing event in DKI Jakarta. Moreover, this agreement was made at the end of the term of office of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan.

"For bribes, we have not received information related to kickbacks or anything. As for Article 2 and Article 3, this is the busiest one. Article 2 and Article 3," said KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata at the KPK Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, September 6.

This will be investigated by the anti-corruption commission investigators when examining Anies Baswedan on Wednesday, September 6. "Can the APBD budget be used for activities that are business in nature," said Alexander.

"Articles 2 and 3 must have an element of abuse of authority. What was the process, yes, that was the planning, implementation, whether there were rules of law that were violated or abuse of authority," he continued.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said he had been summoned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to provide information regarding alleged corruption in the implementation of Formula E.

Anies' summons in the case, which is still at the investigation stage, will be held on Wednesday, September 7. He said he would come to give information.

"I received a summons for questioning by the KPK on Wednesday, September 7 morning. God willing, I will come," said Anies when met in Central Jakarta, Monday, September 5.

The information that will be given is the implementation of the electric car racing event, which will be held for the first time in Jakarta. The former Minister of Education and Culture will explain in more detail to the public after the summons is over.

In connection with this investigation, a number of parties have also been summoned. One of them, the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Regional Representative Council (DPRD), Prasetyo Edy Marsudi, who claimed to explain about the loan of IDR 180 billion by the Department of Youth and Sports (Dispora) DKI Jakarta to pay the commitment fee to Formula E Operations (FEO).
