CIANJUR - Dozens of motorbikes parked on the side of the Sukabumi-Cianjur Highway, to be precise in front of Gekbrong Market, were heavily damaged after being hit by a fuso truck which allegedly lost control. There were no casualties in that incident.

Kanit Gakum Satlantas Polres Cianjur, West Java, Iptu Hadi Kurniawan said the accident on the Gekbrong skull path began when the fuso truck numbered B 9123 F, driven by Hendi, drove from Sukabumi to Cianjur.

"When entering the location of the Gekrong Market incident, the truck could not be controlled so it swerved to the left and directly hit 14 motorbikes parked in front of the market. Luckily, residents who were busy shopping scattered in other directions to save themselves," he said as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, 6 September.

The speed of the truck stopped after dozens of motorbikes, most of which went under the ground, stopped the truck from hitting the stall in front of the market, which was busy with buyers at the time. Only one resident suffered minor injuries and was taken to the nearest health center.

Until now, Hadi said his party is still investigating the exact cause of the truck accident that lost control because it was not roadworthy or because the driver forced himself even though he was sleepy.

"If the suspicion temporarily loses control, we will carry out an investigation to be sure," Hadi said.

During the past month, three accidents occurred on the path of the Gekbrong skull, two of which were caused by a failed brake, which caused six people to die as a result of being run over by a truck.

"We urge motorists, especially large vehicles such as trucks and buses, to routinely check the condition of the vehicle or ram checks, especially in the braking section to avoid accidents when entering accident-prone lanes," he said.
