Honda Beat Specialist Motorcycle Thief Arrested By Makassar Police Of East Jakarta

JAKARTA - East Jakarta Metro Police officers arrested the perpetrator of the theft of an automatic type motorcycle specialist who often acts in the Makasar District area.

East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Budi Sartono said the two perpetrators with the initials F and U were arrested by officers in August 2022.

"In Makassar, we specialize in Honda Beat. So all four units are Beat, because the perpetrators already have a special magnetic key for Beat," said Budi Sartono in Jakarta, Friday, September 2.

Budi added that his party secured evidence in the form of four automatic motorbikes which were stolen by the perpetrators.

Not only that, Budi said that the perpetrators had also acted up to a dozen times thrashing the automatic type of motorcycle.

"The perpetrators have committed 19 times in the Makassar area, so we hope that by being arrested some of the perpetrators can reduce the number of acts of theft which have increased somewhat," said Budi.

Budi said that the actions of the perpetrators were subject to Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft by aggravation.

"The threat of imprisonment is a maximum of seven years," said Budi.

Furthermore, Budi also appealed to the public to be aware of the crime of motor vehicle theft by taking anticipatory steps.

"Even though it has been placed on the terrace, people sometimes forget that even if they use any key, the perpetrator can take it. Keep it in the house or where it can be seen. Keeping CCTV installed is very helpful to anticipate," said Budi.
