Guide In Denpasar Steals Hundreds Of Millions Of Diving Equipment At Bali View Dive Center

DENPASAR - The Denpasar Police, Bali, arrested a man with the initials IKAW (48) for stealing diving equipment at the Bali View Dive Center, Griya Anyar Street, Pemogan, South Denpasar, Bali. The theft resulted in a loss of IDR 140 million.

"He stole this diving equipment", said Denpasar Police Chief Commissioner Bambang Yugo Pamungkas, Tuesday, August 2.

The theft of diving equipment occurred on Saturday, July 23. Initially, the suspect picked up guests at Semawang Beach, South Denpasar, with the Bali View Dive Center driver. When the suspect took the bag and opened the car drawer, the suspect saw the keys to the Bali View Dive Center office.

After taking the diving guests to Nusa Penida, Klungkung, the suspect immediately planned the theft.

The suspect rented a pickup and went straight to the Bali View Dive Center.

The suspect stole diving equipment and was taken to a pickup. This stolen item was stored on the edge of a river in the Tabanan area. But the theft was uncovered until the perpetrator was arrested by the police.

From the hands of the perpetrators, evidence was secured including 19 sets of diving regulators, 6 regular diving masks, 9 minus diving masks, and 3 compass diving.

Meanwhile, Ipda Joko Wijayanto, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Denpasar Police, said the perpetrator did it alone and the item would be sold by the perpetrator but was quickly arrested.

"So the diving equipment is still being secured (with) the perpetrator. For the mode, he is a guest escort or rental.

For a loss of around IDR 140 million. This is the first time he has done it", said the Unit 1 Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Denpasar Police, Ipda Joko Wijayanto.
