JAKARTA - United States President Joe Biden has recovered from COVID-19 after testing negative, calling on his citizens to complete vaccinations

President Biden, 79, ended his period of isolation from COVID-19 after tested negative on Tuesday night and again on Wednesday morning. During his remarks to staff and reporters at the White House, he said he was recovering fearlessly thanks to good care and available medicine.

"My symptoms are mild, my recovery is fast and I feel fine. During the time I was in isolation, I was able to work, carry out office duties without interruption. This is a clear statement of where we are in the war against COVID-19," said President Biden, as reported by Reuters on July 27.

President Biden remains fever-free and is no longer taking acetaminophen (Tylenol), said his doctor, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, in a memo previously released by the White House.

President Biden has been experiencing mild symptoms including a cough, sore throat, and body aches since testing positive last Thursday.

"The symptoms are steadily improving and are almost completely cured," said O'Connor.

Furthermore, President Biden feels more fortunate than his predecessor, Donald Trump, who is seriously ill due to COVID-19.

“Here's the bottom line: When my predecessor caught COVID, he had to be flown by helicopter to Walter Reed Medical Center. He's seriously ill. Thankfully, he recovered," he said.

"When I got COVID, I was working from upstairs in the White House, in an office upstairs, for a five-day period. The difference was vaccinations, of course," added President Biden.

President Biden put on a mask on his way to the Rose Garden and took it off for his remarks there. He will wear a mask for a full 10 days when he is around other people, O'Connor said, given the potential exposure of Secret Service personnel and White House staff who are nearby.

In addition, O'Connor said President Biden would be tested regularly for potential COVID-19 "bounce" cases experienced by some patients who had been treated with Paxlovid, the drug the president received.

"Now, I have to go back to the Oval Office," Biden said at the end of his remarks Wednesday to cheers from White House staff.
