17 Positive For COVID-19, 2 Hajj Pilgrims Immediately Treated At The Hajj Hospital After Returning From The Holy Land

SURABAYA - A total of 17 pilgrims who had just arrived at the Sukolilo Hajj Dormitory (AHES) Surabaya were exposed to COVID-19, the results of the PCR Swab test. In addition, two pilgrims could not return to their homes immediately, because they had to be treated at the Haji Sukolilo Hospital.

"The two pilgrims must undergo treatment at the Hajj Hospital because their condition is really weak", said Abdul Haris, secretary of the Surabaya Debarkation Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH), confirmed on Wednesday, July 20.

The two pilgrims, continued Haris, one person from Surabaya, and the other from Tuban. One pilgrim from Surabaya with the initials KA joined a flying group (Kloter) of five.

"A 41-year-old woman was so weak after returning from the Holy Land that she was immediately treated at the hospital, because it was not yet possible to return to her home", he said.

In addition to the train, previously there were pilgrims from Tuban who were sick when they returned home from Hajj. The congregation with the initials UMS is known to be part of group 1 which is a group of pilgrims from Tuban.

"Until now, UMS is still being treated at the Haji Hospital", he said.

Hari said that until now 17 pilgrims had just returned from the Holy Land known to be positive for COVID-19. However, they were immediately repatriated to their area of origin, to receive special treatment from the Local Health Office.

In detail, in group 5 of 450 people, there was one positive congregation, in group 6 of 446 people who were examined, there were three positive pilgrims. Previously from groups 1-4, there were 13 positive congregations.

"So far, there are a total of 17 positive COVID-19 congregants. They are positive based on the results of the PCR swab test", he said.
