Heavy Rain Is Predicted In Several Areas In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that heavy rains that can be accompanied by lightning/lightning and strong winds are likely to flush a number of areas in Indonesia on Monday, July 11.

According to weather information published on the BMKG's official website, heavy rain that can be accompanied by strong winds and lightning has the potential to flush parts of Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Jambi, Lampung, Central Java, East Java, Bali, West Kalimantan, and Central Kalimantan.

Parts of the provinces of North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, West Papua, and Papua also face the potential for heavy rains that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds.

In addition, rain that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds is forecasted in parts of the Provinces of West Nusa Tenggara and South Kalimantan as well as parts of the provinces of West Java and East Nusa Tenggara with the opportunity to face strong winds.

The BMKG also issued an early warning regarding the potential for waves as high as 2.5 to four meters in the northern waters of the Malacca Strait, the northern waters of Sabang, the Enggano-Bengkulu waters, the western waters of Lampung, the North Natuna Sea, the Banda Sea, the Bali-Lombok-Alas Strait. south, and the southern waters of Central Java-Sawu Island.

Meanwhile, sea waves as high as four to six meters have the opportunity to approach the waters of the western Indian Ocean from the Enggano Islands to Lampung, the southern waters of Banten to West Java, and the Indian Ocean south of Banten to Bali-West Nusa Tenggara.

BMKG appealed to residents of coastal areas and residents who work in the shipping sector to be aware of the impact of high waves in these water areas.
