When Jokowi Is In Russia, Ukraine Is Being Bombarded Again, Dino Patti Djalal: This Is A Sign That Putin Is Ignoring Jokowi's Peace Mission

JAKARTA - The embers are back on fire. The Russian offensive continues in the eastern city of Lysychansk. A series of gunfire followed the takeover of the oil refinery area belonging to Ukraine on Thursday evening, June 30, local time.

Former Deputy Foreign Minister Dino Patti Djalal alluded to President Jokowi's visit to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday 29 June and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, June 30.

According to Dino, President Jokowi's efforts to mediate the conflict between Russia and Ukraine were not taken seriously by Moscow.

"This is a sign that President Putin or Russia completely ignores President Jokowi's peace mission to Russia," Dino said on his Twitter account, @dinopattidjalal.

Dino admitted that he was surprised that when the peace mission of President Jokowi's entourage visited Ukraine and then Russia, the attacks continued to be stepped up on Ukrainian territory.

"Boarding Ukraine when President Jokowi arrived in Moscow," said the chairman of the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI).

Based on the Washingtonpost report, the Russian military opened fire on Lysychansk last night local time. The head of the local military administration, Serhiy Haidai, appealed to Lysychansk residents to remain in shelters.

He said evacuation to another location was not possible because the Russian military was increasing its attacks on the city. About 15.000 civilians occupy eastern Lysychansk.
