JAKARTA - Ukraine's participation in the G20 summit, which will be held in Indonesia, will depend on the security situation in Ukraine and the composition of the summit participants, said President Volodymyr Zelensky.

President Zelensky said this when giving a joint press statement after receiving President Joko Widodo's visit in Kyiv, Wednesday 29 June. President Zelensky thanked Joko Widodo for his unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

In addition, President Zelensky said, Indonesia's assistance as a leader and participant of the G20 Summit is very important for the restoration of peace.

"The facilities of the chairman and members of the G20 are very important for the restoration of peace. I thank you, Mr. President, for the personal invitation to take part in the G20 summit, and, of course, I accept it," President Zelensky said, citing the website of the Ukrainian Presidency, Thursday, June 30.

"Ukraine's participation will depend on the security situation in the country and on the composition of the participants," President Zelensky continued.

Previously, Indonesian President Joko Widodo handed over an invitation to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to personally attend the G20 summit, where the two countries' leaders met.

"I extend an invitation to President Zelensky to personally attend the G20 Summit which will be held in Bali in November 2022," said President Jokowi, citing Interfax.

It is known, that Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted an invitation to attend the G20 summit in Bali in November. However, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said the format of President Putin's attendance, live or video conference, had not been set.

"Yes, we have confirmed his participation. They have invited (him) to the offline meeting, but there is plenty of time. I hope the pandemic will allow this important forum to be held in an offline format," he quoted Anadolu Agency as saying, underlining Indonesia's official invitation, despite the stronger pressure from Western countries.
