Potential Drug Circulation In MXGP Samota 2022 Monitored By National Narcotics Agency And National Police

NTB - The potential for drug trafficking during the Motocross MXGP of Indonesia 2022 event at the Rocket Motor Circuit MXGP Samota, Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), will be monitored by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the National Police.

"As a form of our support for the success of MXGP activities in Sumbawa, BNN together with the National Police will continue to monitor drug trafficking", said Head of the NTB Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP), Gagas Nugraha, in Mataram, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, June 21.

Supervision, he explained, was not only carried out in the event area. Every NTB entrance gate, both on the islands of Lombok and Sumbawa, will also be tightened.

"Essentially all areas that have the potential to be placed for drug trafficking or abuse are under our supervision", he said.

In line with the Head of the NTB Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP), the Director of Narcotics Investigation at the NTB Police, Police Commissioner Helmi Kwarta Kusuma Putra Rauf, added that at the extreme racing event he had assigned a special team to monitor drug trafficking.

"So in the context of securing this MXGP, we are involved in the drug sub-task which consists of a joint team with the National Narcotics Agency. Our team that goes to the field is equipped with cyber devices", said Helmi.

Although the security eye is focused on MXGP activities on Sumbawa Island, Helmi ensures that monitoring outside of activities continues.

"Not because there are MXGP activities on Sumbawa Island, supervision in other places is weak. Instead, we will be more aggressive in conducting surveillance. The point is there is no room for them, dealers and dealers", he said.

The extreme race on June 24-26 2022 on Sumbawa Island will take place in an area of 18 hectares with a circuit length of 1,800 meters. In the event, "Free-Practice" activities, qualification, MX2, and MXGP will be carried out.

In security activities, the Police as security controllers has deployed 2,196 joint personnel consisting of the TNI, Polri, BNN, and government agencies, such as the transportation service and the Satpol-PP.
