Monitoring The Atmosphere Of Formula E Spectators, Anies Chased By A Husband And Wife From East Kalimantan: Sir, Take A Photo Together!

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan monitored the atmosphere in the Formula E spectator stands area, both at the Grandstand, Circuit Festival, to the VIP area.

At this electric car racing event, Anies wore a white shirt with the name "Anies Baswedan" on the right side of the shirt, and the FIA Formula E logo affixed to the left.

When monitoring the circuit area at around 10.00 western Indonesia time, the race has not yet started. While walking from one audience area to another, Anies was chased by a husband and wife.

While sticking out their cellphones, the husband and wife who came to watch Formula E from outside Java approached Anies with the intention of taking a selfie together.

"Mr. Anies, take a photo together, sir! We are from East Kalimantan, sir," said the husband and wife in the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) area, Ancol, North Jakarta, Saturday, June 4.

While smiling, Anies also served them to take pictures together. After that, Anies returned to continue his visit to the Grandstand 2G area, stopping occasionally because people were approaching him again to take pictures together.

After the visit, Anies reiterated that today's Formula E racing event conveys the message that Jakarta is ready to intensify the shift from using oil-fueled vehicles to electric-powered vehicles.

This effort, continued Anies, was carried out in order to face the challenges of global warming that was engulfing the world.

"Let's anticipate gradually, changing our activities that produce pollution into pollution-free activities. Formula E is about our responsibility to face the global challenge, namely climate change," explained Anies.

"This is our offering to Mother Earth and also a message to the world because it will be highlighted by more than 150 countries directly," he added.

As is known, the ninth series of the 2021-2022 Formula E race will take place today Saturday, June 4. Currently, the first and second free practice have been held.

The next session is qualifying before continuing to the race which will take place at 15.04 western Indonesia time. This race will be attended by a number of important officials including President Joko Widodo.
