Russian Ambassador Says Britain Is Trying To Isolate Russian Diplomats, Continues To Push War In Ukraine With New Arms Supply

JAKARTA - Russian diplomats in Britain said the country was trying to hinder diplomatic work, while on the other hand it was trying to push Ukraine through arms supplies.

British authorities aspire to isolate Russia's diplomatic work from the rest of the world, Russia's Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin told TV channel Russia-24.

"To be honest, there hasn't been anyone until recently to explain our stance and what's happening now, because the authorities, the London officials, are trying to isolate our diplomatic work from the rest of the world by blocking contacts, parliament. ties are also lost," he said, cited from TASS, May 25.

"It is difficult but we are working," the senior diplomat continued.

Not only that, but Ambassador Kelin also emphasized that Russian citizens living in the UK also find themselves in difficult situations.

"Of course it's not easy. Some of his compatriots did panic at first, but now the situation is a bit calmer," he said.

Furthermore, he considered Britain to continue to push Kyiv on the path of war by advancing new initiatives on arms supplies to Ukraine.

"So far, London officials have gone to great lengths to push Kyiv on a warpath and not let it take off by advancing new initiatives. It continues to promise to supply new weapons. A lot is said about it here, but little is done," he explained.

He noted that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson "talks to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky literally every day, not to let him walk away from this path."

In addition, he also commented on reports that British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss supported the idea of ​​sending warships to the Black Sea to escort Ukrainian ships with grain from Odessa.

"This (the initiative to send warships) was voiced by Liz Truss at a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Lithuania. It's quite funny. Where is Lithuania, where is London and where is the Black Sea?" she said.

"London is well aware of what's going on there because the International Maritime Organization, which deals with these things, is based here," she said.
