JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to investigate allegations of bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as permits that ensnared the inactive North Penajam Paser Regent Abdul Gafur Mas'ud. This investigation was carried out by summoning a number of politicians from the Democratic Party, namely Andi Arief and Jemmy Setiawan.
On Tuesday, May 10, investigators summoned Democratic Party politician Jemmy Setiawan. The Deputy II of the Organization, Cadreization, and Membership Development Agency (BPOKK) was examined as a witness in the bribery case that also ensnared the General Treasurer of the Balikpapan Democratic DPC, Nur Afifah Balqis.
After being questioned, Jemmy admitted that he was asked for information regarding the implementation of the 5th Regional Deliberation (Musda) of the Democratic Party in East Kalimantan. He said he was asked about the post-implementation process and stages of the party activities, one of which was the fit and proper test.
"So we were asked earlier, what about the Musda (how, ed). Then the process goes on, then how after the Musda, there will be a fit and proper test, there will be preparations for the board of directors meeting," Jemmy told reporters after being questioned at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, May 10.
Jemmy said he got about three to four questions from investigators. However, he denied any questions about the flow of bribes from Abdul Gafur.
Moreover, Jemmy said that he did not know anything about the flow of money from Abdul Gafur to other parties, including the activities of regional deliberations.
"Where is the flow of funds going? For example, it's not going to me, it's not to me, because I already explained that even if there were and so on, it was a process long ago and so on, so there's no such thing as a Musda business," he said.

Apart from Jemmy, investigators from the anti-corruption commission also examined the chairman of the Election Winning Body (Bappilu) of the Democratic Party, Andi Arief. Andi, who was supposed to be checked on Monday, May 9, just answered yesterday's summons.
After being investigated, Andi emphasized that the bribery case for the procurement of goods and services as well as licensing in North Penajam Paser was not related to the activities of his party, namely the 5th Regional Deliberation (Musda) of the East Kalimantan Democratic Party.
"The examination confirmed that there is no relationship with the Democrat Musda, indeed there is none," said Andi.
He admitted that he received seven questions from investigators. But, like Jemmy, there is no question about the flow of money into the activities of the party bearing the star of mercy.
"Therefore, the case being investigated is not about the Democrat Party's Musda. It's more about the OTT incident," he said.
"I have given an explanation that I know and I think everything is clear and I heard that Mr. AGM's case will be P21 (transferred from investigators to the prosecutor)," added Andi.
Regarding the examination of the two members of the Democratic Party, Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said that this was indeed done by investigators to complete the file on the bribery case that ensnared Abdul Gafur.
"We have information and data to develop," said Ali.
Ali did not elaborate further on what information and data investigators are currently investigating from the two people. What is clear, continued Ali, is that an examination of the two is needed to strengthen evidence of bribery by Gafur.
"Of course, this is part of the investigative team and then completes the case file for the suspect AGM because we have information and data that must be developed, although of course for handling this case we are limited by the detention time," he said.
Previously reported, the KPK named Abdul Gafur as a suspect in receiving bribes related to the procurement of goods and services as well as permits in North Penajam Paser Regency.
Apart from Gafur, the KPK has also appointed the Acting Secretary of the North Penajam Paser Regency, Mulyadi; Head of Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning of North Penajam Paser Regency Edi Hasmoro; Head of the North Penajam Paser District Education, Youth, and Sports Office, Jusman; and the General Treasurer of the Balikpapan Democratic Party DPC, Nur Afifah Balqis as a bribe recipient.
Meanwhile, as a suspect for giving bribes, the KPK has named a private party named Achmad Zudi.
Their determination was initiated from a hand-catching operation (OTT) which was held on Wednesday, January 12 in two locations, namely Jakarta and North Kalimantan. From the results of the action, the KPK also confiscated IDR 1 billion and IDR 447 million in Balqis's account.
