JAKARTA - Russia is ready to end its military operations, especially in Ukraine, which has entered its 57th day, when they choose to concentrate their attacks on eastern Ukraine.

Failing to control Kyiv and northern Ukraine, Russia chose to concentrate its military, setting up a new strategy to control eastern Ukraine. However, Russia also sees the possibility of ending the operation.

The head of the second CIS Department, Russian Foreign Ministry Alexey Polishchuk, said Russia's special military operations would end once the threats associated with NATO's colonization of Ukraine were removed.

"Special military operations will end once their duties are fulfilled. Among them is the protection of the peaceful population of the Donbas, demilitarization, and denazification of Ukraine, as well as the elimination of threats to Russia coming from Ukrainian territory due to its colonization by NATO members", the diplomat explained, launching TASS on April 21.

Polishchuck added that Russia's special military operation was proceeding according to plan.

"All his goals will be achieved", Polishchuk emphasized.

As previously reported, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said his military had started a new stage of special military operations in Ukraine, to liberate the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), Tuesday.

"Another stage of this operation (in eastern Ukraine) is starting and I believe this will be a very important moment of this whole special operation", Foreign Minister Lavrov said in an interview with the India Today television channel, as reported by TASS.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and senior Ukrainian officials said Russian troops had started an offensive in the east of the country, calling it the "battle of Donbas" that had begun on Monday.

The Ukrainian army has been anticipating a war in the east, following the withdrawal of Russian troops from near Kyiv and northern Ukraine late last month, to focus its attacks on the Donbas region.

"We can now say, Russian troops have started the battle in Donbas, which they have been preparing for a long time", President Zelensky said in a video speech as quoted by Reuters.
