Lion Air Flight Passengers Are Furious With The Officers, Observers Say There Is Inappropriate Communication

TANGERANG - A video has gone viral on social media of a passenger at Soekarno - Hatta (Soetta) Airport clashing with officers. The 1 minute 24 second video was allegedly due to the buildup and delays that occurred on the Lion Air airline.

In the video, a Lion Air officer can be seen fighting with a female passenger at the airport.

This commotion also suddenly made other passengers angry and cheered. In this video, a man with glasses can be seen asking about his luggage.

"Where is my luggage, where is my luggage," he asked the officer.

The video allegedly occurred at the baggage claim location at one of the Soetta Airport terminals.

Danang Mandala Prihantoro, Lion Air's Corporate Communication Strategic, admitted that he was not aware of the incident.

"I'll check first," he said briefly, Monday, March 28.

Responding to this issue, Tamil Selvan Political and Public Policy Communicologist said that the attitude of failed communication that is often shown by airline officials is often the trigger for heating up the atmosphere towards the passengers.

"Indeed, we see that the airline's officers often fail in communication, thus triggering passengers' emotions. I think the passengers' reactions are reasonable, because they are the aggrieved parties," he said.

Furthermore, Kang Tamil asked all parties to oversee this case, and urged the airline to get a code of ethics sanction.

"This must be guarded, yes, it should not be a cold event. I personally encourage the airline to be examined according to a code of ethics by the ministry of transportation," he said.
