BADUNG - Russian artist, Pokras Lampas carved calligraphy. This peace-themed calligraphy was painted on the roof of a 980-meter villa owned by a Ukrainian property businessman, Alex Stefan.

The work entitled "World United" was made in five languages, namely, Russian, Ukrainian, English, Indonesian, and Chinese.

Pokras said that this work with the theme of peace is considered suitable to be inscribed at this time, in the midst of an uncertain world situation, especially due to military tensions between Russia and Ukraine.

According to him, Bali was specifically chosen because of its strategic location as a gathering place for various people from abroad, ranging from tourists to creative people, and business people. In the midst of the ongoing pandemic, visitors from abroad are still trying to visit this Island of the Gods.

"Wherever we are, keep in mind that the world is one even though we come from countries with different cultures. I painted "МИР " (Mir Yedin) which means World

United or the United World in five languages so that everyone who sees it can take the meaning of these words to heart", he said in a written statement, Friday, March 11.

Pokras admitted that he was happy to be able to paint on the roof of the Alex Villas property, which is strategically located so that it can be seen from various sides.

Meanwhile, Alex Stefan said he came to Bali from Ukraine six years ago. Pokras' work is called voicing tolerance

"This work of a united world breathes tolerance, friendship, and respect for one another. I am very happy because we did build a villa whose architecture is in harmony with nature. It would be very good if, with this work, our buildings can also be in harmony with people from various cultures", he said.

Alex also emphasized that as a businessman from Ukraine, he did not want war.

"We don't want war. We want to build a future together. We want peace around the world", he said.
