Fighting Fadli Zon's Criticism Of 'Unfair Barbarity' Regarding Terrorist Doctor Sunardi, Gun Romli: Detachment 88 Is Right

JAKARTA - Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) activist, Mohamad Guntur Romli or Gun Romli, fully supports the firm action of Densus 88 at the National Police Headquarters, which shot dead Dr. Sunardi, who was involved in a terrorist network.

Gun Romli's criticism at the same time answered the member of Commission I DPR RI Fadli Zon who reacted strongly to the death in question. Through a tweet on Twitter, Fadli Zon said that Sunardi's shooting to death was an 'unjust savagery without humanity.'

"It should be "Just and Civilized Humanity", but the practice is "Unfair savagery without humanity". May the late Dr. Sunardi get the best place in the sight of Allah SWT. Amen YRA", chirped Fadli Zon while replying to his condolences for Sunardi's death.

"It is right that Dr. Sunardi was shot dead by Densus 88 for fighting officers who wanted to arrest him", said Gun Romlli on his personal Twitter page, @GunRomli quoted Friday, March 11.

Detachment 88's steps are right compared to other victims, both civilians, and officers. Sunardi, said Gun Romli, is believed to be involved in terrorism.

"Instead of bringing down civilian victims and officers, it is better for him to be dealt with firmly. This is Dr. Sunardi's connection with the terrorism network in Indonesia and the doctors involved in terrorism", he stressed.

The National Police previously opened their voices to the shooting to death of Sunardi by Densus 88. He is no longer a suspect, but a suspect.

Head of Public Information Bureau of Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan said, the man from Sukoharjo is a member of the terrorist network organization Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) to an adviser to the emir or group leader.

The form of resistance was by trying to hit a member of Densus 88 with the car he was driving. In fact, driving irregularly to drop members who are in the back of the car.

"The suspect continued to drive his car and drove fast and shook the steering wheel left and right or in a zigzag to bring down the officers", said Ramadhan.

In addition, SU also hit a passing vehicle around the location. For that reason, the officers decided to give a measured, firm shot.

The decision by members of Densus 88 to take decisive action, continued Ramadhan, was by the Criminal Code (KUHP) and the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).

Moreover, in Law number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police and Regulation of the National Police Chief (Perkap), number 1 of 2009 even the actions of members of the Densus are considered correct. Where measurable decisive action can be taken if the suspect endangers the public and officers.

"Take firm and measured action because the action was carried out because the suspect's actions have endangered or threatened the safety of the lives of the community and Polri officers", he said.

"This action is also by the National Police Chief Regulation number 8 of 2009 concerning the implementation of human rights principles and standards in carrying out the duties of the National Police", continued Ramadhan.

Meanwhile, SU died after being shot by Densus 88 Anti-terror in a series of arrests in Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java, on March 9.

During the action, SU, who is said to be a doctor by profession, suffered gunshot wounds to his upper back and right hip.
