Bambang Susantono Will Be Inaugurated As Head Of State Capital Authority Today, DPR Agree?

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is rumored to be inaugurating the Head and Deputy of the National Capital Authority (IKN) Nusantara today. Mentioned that will serve is Bambang Susantono.

Based on invitations sent to officials, the inauguration will be held at the State Palace at 15.00 western Indonesia time. The inauguration of the Head and Deputy of IKN was accompanied by the inauguration of the Governor of South Sulawesi (Sulsel) for the term of 2022-2023.

For information, Bambang Susantono has been active and has a long career. After completing his studies at ITB. Bambang Susantono started his career at the Department of Public Works.

Member of Commission II of the DPR, the PAN faction, Guspardi Gaus, said that the appointment of the Head of the IKN Authority is the prerogative of the President.

However, according to him, a Head of the IKN Authority must be professional, independent, with capacity, and with integrity.

"If indeed Mr. Bambang is a person with the criteria that I conveyed, of course, we appreciate it. And Mr. Bambang must prepare himself to carry out his duties and responsibilities to become the Head of the Authority whose task is very heavy," said Guspardi Gaus to reporters, Wednesday, March 9.

The member of the Special Committee for the IKN Bill reminded that whoever the President appoints as the head of the authority, he must be prepared with various possibilities. Especially before the 2024 political year. "This position must be selectively given to anyone, including Mr. Bambang. He must be prepared for all possibilities, especially in the conditions facing the 2024 General Election and a large budget, of course, there will be a lot of pressure on him," he said.

"So whoever appointed by Jokowi must be professional, independent, have the capacity, capability, and integrity," continued Guspardi.

Meanwhile, a member of the DPR from the PKB faction, Jazilul Fawaid, said that Bambang Susantono's figure was less popular. PKB also did not record Bambang's brilliant achievements. However, he said, that does not mean the figure is not good.

"The crowd is Mr. Bambang Susantono, but I don't have a record of superior and brilliant performance. Yes (less popular), but that doesn't mean it's not good," Jazilul told reporters, Wednesday, March 9.

According to the PKB deputy, apart from being competent in his field, the Head of IKN Nusantara must also be like a 'superman'. "Those who are able to work hard 24 hours because the time is urgent," said Jazilul.

Even so, Jazilul admitted that PKB did not have a 'champion' figure to become the Head of IKN Nusantara. PKB, he said, left it entirely to Jokowi. "It's up to the President," added the Deputy Chair of the MPR.
