JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa reminded his staff not to be discriminatory when recruiting TNI career officers because recruitment is the right of all Indonesian citizens.

The Commander conveyed this to his staff during a meeting at TNI Headquarters, Jakarta, as broadcasted on General TNI Andika Perkasa's Youtube channel, Wednesday, March 9.

"Number one, if it is called the requirements for Indonesian citizens, there should be no additional members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). Let it be the right of all Indonesian people," Andika said when discussing the recruitment of Career Officers (PK) and Special Career Officers of the TNI for the 2022 Fiscal Year, as reported by Antara.

In the presentation delivered by the selection committee, there are several general requirements for applicants who register, including the status of Indonesian citizens (WNI).

The Commander said that the sons and daughters of TNI soldiers are certainly allowed to register, but they must be treated the same as other applicants. That is, the Commander emphasized that there should be no special treatment for applicants who are children of TNI members.

"We must not forget that those who are not sons and daughters (members) of the TNI may enter. All Indonesian citizens have the same rights, have the same opportunities," said Andika.

During the meeting, the Director of the Adjutant General of the Army (Dirajenad) Brigadier General TNI Teguh Bangun Martoto conveyed a number of general requirements and special requirements for prospective TNI career officers.

The general requirements, apart from being Indonesian citizens, are that applicants must not have a criminal record, be physically and mentally healthy, be loyal to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and have faith and fear of God Almighty.

Meanwhile, for the specific requirements, the Commander asked for the recruitment of career officers this year to focus on accepting applicants who have bachelor's degrees (S1) and higher levels.

“For career officers, I want to focus. There is no D3, (who may apply) S1 or higher," said the Commander.

General Andika said that applicants must also have never been married and not married during their education.

However, this rule is exempted for career officer applicants who are already doctors by profession.

"It's okay for doctors to be married because they take their knowledge," explained the Commander.

However, he asked the selection committee team to make requirements that those who are doctors must not be pregnant when applying.

Then, for applicants who have children, there must also be additional requirements.

"Earlier, a child who is dependent on a breastfeeding mother (must) be decided at what age," continued Andika.

Registration for this year's career officers has been open since last month until March 14, 2022. Applicants are welcome to register online and fill out the registration form, then register physically and submit the documents required by the selection committee.
