KUDUS - The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports of Kudus Regency, Central Java, is targeting the repair of 110 damaged school buildings for elementary and junior high schools starting in mid-March 2022.

"For now, we are waiting for the planning consultant. Once the planning is ready, repairs to the school building can begin immediately," said Head of the Youth and Sports Education Office of Kudus Regency, Harjuna Widada, in Kudus, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, March 9.

He estimates that if the construction of the school building can begin in mid-March 2022, then by June 2022 it is targeted that all damaged school buildings that are targeted for repairs have been completed.

The budget provided for the repair of the 110 damaged school buildings is around IDR 22 billion through the 2022 APBD.

Of the 110 school units, there are 100 elementary schools and 10 junior high schools. It is spread over nine sub-districts with the highest number of schools at the elementary level in Mejobo and Kaliwungu sub-districts each having 14 schools, followed by Undaan sub-district with 13 schools, and at least in Kota sub-district there are six schools.

Meanwhile, for the junior high school level, there are two schools in Bae District, three schools in Undaan District, two schools in Jekulo District, while in Gebog, Kota, and Jati Districts one school each.

For other damaged school buildings, he said, will be recorded for proposals in 2023 APBD. Even if this year's budget can be available, of course it will be proposed through the 2022 Revised APBD.

When repairing the building, the students' teaching and learning process can use other rooms such as the teacher's room or library or arrange an entry schedule so that everyone can take part in face-to-face learning.
