Mandalika MotoGP Ticket Sales Have Not Reached Half Of The Target

MANDALIKA - Mandalika MotoGP ticket sales, which will be held on March 18-20 2022, have only reached around 22,300 tickets out of a total of 63,000 tickets provided.

The slow pace of ticket sales for the Mandalika MotoGP has created a new issue because it is reported that the NTB Provincial Government requires ASN (State Civil Apparatus) to watch and buy tickets.

"If it is calculated, the Mandalika MotoGP ticket sales have not even reached half or less than 50 percent", said InJourney Marketing Director, Maya Watono, in a statement in Jakarta, Friday, March 4.

In a webinar, Maya Watono described that ticket sales were still tight even though the MotoGP event was only two weeks away.

According to records, the Mandalika MotoGP tickets are sold in several price ranges. For the first day of the free practice session, the price is IDR 100 thousand, while the most expensive on the third day when the race is held is IDR 500 thousand.

Regional Secretary for West Nusa Tenggara Province, Lalu Gita Ariadi, said there were around 35,000 tickets that had not been sold.

The local government is pushing to increase ticket sales and mobilize spectators and ASN is one of those required to watch.

"As many as 35,000 tickets, we then tried to do the mapping. We were distributed in 10 ticket sales clusters in NTB. From the NTB Provincial Government, ASN is required to watch MotoGP", said Gita.

However, the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Zulkieflimansyah, denied the existence of a policy that required ASN to buy tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP on March 18-20, 2022.

"These days there is a lot of excitement about ASN being required to watch MotoGP with a 10 percent discount. Maybe, Mr. Regional Secretary, I am too excited for this MotoGP to be lively and successful, so that I convey this news to the public", he said.

He continued that the policy was not final and was just an idea for the sale of Mandalika MotoGP tickets. "This policy is not final", he said.
