Elderly In Pamatang Siantar Asked To Immediate Vaccination

MEDAN - Pematang Siantar Resort Police, North Sumatra met with residents and provided understanding to the elderly to take part in a follow-up vaccination program to anticipate the spread of COVID-19.

"House-to-house activities are carried out so that the elderly receive the vaccine evenly. Given that vaccination achievement, especially for the elderly, have not met the achievements according to the number of elderly people in Pematang Siantar City," said Pematang Siantar Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Adjutant of Police BOY S.B. Siregar, in a written statement, Thursday, March 3.

Boy explained to residents about the benefits of vaccination for health and protecting the community from COVID-19. Where now a new variant of Omicron has appeared which is spreading very quickly.

"Because of that vaccines are very important for health, so don't hesitate to follow vaccinations," he said.

The police chief invited the elderly to get vaccinations which were carried out at Haji Adam Malik Field, Pematang Siantar City by using a car for shuttles.

As encouragement for the elderly who have received the vaccine, social assistance (bansos) is given in the form of 5 kilograms of rice.

Hopefully, during this unfinished COVID-19 pandemic, the injection of vaccines can increase the immunity of the elderly.

"Even though you have been vaccinated, you must not ignore the health protocol (prokes). And you must still obey the health protocol," said the Pematang Siantar Police Chief.
