PURBALINGGA - The Purbalingga Regency Government, Central Java, has prepared a centralized isolation area with a capacity of 100 beds, to anticipate a spike in active COVID-19 cases in the local area.

"Centralized isolation is ready with a capacity of 100 beds, with eight health workers, one doctor, one sanitarian, and three cleaners and night guards," said Head of the Purbalingga Health Office, dr. Jusi Febrianto was quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 24.

He said the existence of a centralized isolation place was prepared considering that Purbalingga Regency is currently in the Level 3 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) category following the trend of increasing active cases in the last few days.

"We have also prepared beds for COVID-19 patients in a number of hospitals in the region, a total of 284 beds," he said.

Jusi also informed that the current number of active COVID-19 cases in Purbalingga is 162 people.

Of the total number, he said, as many as 61 people are being treated at health facilities and 101 others are undergoing self-isolation.

Meanwhile, the Purbalingga Regency Government is currently trying to control the spread of COVID-19 in this region.

"We also continue to make efforts to intensify testing and tracking efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in this region," he said.

Jusi added that testing and tracking will focus on the pattern of handling in health care facilities, especially for those with symptoms.

"Thus, if after the test is carried out and it turns out that the patient is confirmed positive for COVID-19, then it can be followed up immediately by directing it to isolation," he said.

According to him, various anticipatory steps are needed following the trend of increasing COVID-19 cases in the local area.

"In the last few days, there has been an increase in the number of active COVID-19 cases in Purbalingga Regency. This of course needs to be watched out for but also don't panic too much," he said.
