KPK Sita 4 Land Owned By The Younger Brother Of The Former Regent Of North Lampung

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated four assets in the form of land belonging to the younger brother of former North Lampung Regent Agung Ilmu Mangkunegara, Akbar Tandaniria Mangkunegara. The four confiscated lands were in Bandar Lampung City.

"The Prosecutor's Team has confiscated assets in the form of 4 parcels of land located in Kemiling Permai Village, Kemiling District, Bandar Lampung City belonging to the Defendant Akbar Tandaniria Mangkunegara", said KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector, Ali Fikri, in a written statement, Thursday, 24 February.

Ali said the confiscation was based on a decision by the panel of judges at the Tanjungkarang Corruption Court, Lampung. "The purpose of confiscation of these assets is to serve as additional evidence in the trial", he said.

In addition, confiscation is also carried out as an effort to ensure the adequacy of payment of replacement money. This step, continued Ali, is a form of asset recovery for state losses or asset recovery.

"It is also at the same time to ensure the adequacy of payment of replacement money as part of asset recovery if later the defendant is found guilty and burdened with paying replacement money as a court decision which has permanent legal force", he said.

As previously reported, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named Akbar as a suspect in the alleged acceptance of gratuities in the North Lampung Regency Government.

He is a representative or representative of the former North Lampung Regent, Agung Sains Mangkunegara, from 2014 to 2019 who had already been named a suspect. Akbar took an active role in determining which entrepreneurs were entitled to projects at the North Lampung Ministry of Public Works and Housing Service. He did this from 2015 to 2019.

For his actions, Akbar together with Agung, Raden Syahril, Syahbuddin, and Taufik Hidayat is suspected of receiving up to IDR 100.2 billion from several businessmen who received projects at the Ministry of Public Works and Housing Office of North Lampung Regency.

He is suspected of violating Article 12B of Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1 ) 1st of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code.
