Manado City Contributes The Most COVID-19 Cases In North Sulawesi

JAKARTA - The city of Manado is the largest contributor to the new COVID-19 cases in North Sulawesi (Sulut) Province, namely 32 people, on Sunday 6 February 2022.

"Today, North Sulawesi added 54 new cases of COVID-19," said Spokesman for the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 in North Sulawesi, Dr. Steaven Dandel MPH in Manado as quoted by Antara.

After Manado City, namely North Minahasa Regency, namely six people, Minahasa Regency (four people) and outside the region (three people).

Furthermore, Bitung City, Talaud Islands Regency, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, Sangihe Islands Regency each have two people and South Minahasa Regency one person.

"The task force continues to hope that people will be disciplined in implementing health protocols," he said.

To date, the total population of more than 2.6 million people has reached 35,158 people since the first case was identified in mid-March 2020.

Meanwhile, recovered cases reached 33,734 people or 95.94 percent after the addition of four people each from North Minahasa Regency, Sangihe Islands Regency, East Bolaang Mongondow Regency, and Sitaro Islands Regency.

Furthermore, COVID-19 death cases reached 1,048 people with a death rate (Case Fatality Rate) of 2.98 percent.
